総合的病害虫・雑草管理技術(Integrated Pest Management; IPM)は環境に優しい病害虫防除の技術体系で、近代農業の発展に欠かせない大切な考え方です。ウイルス病による作物の被害を抑えるため、作物・媒介生物・ウイルスの伝染環で起こる生命現象を解明し、その反応にくさびを打ち込む生物防除技術の開発に取り組んでいます。さらに、産学官連携に基づき、複数の防除技術を合理的に組み合わせた植物ウイルス病のIPM技術体系を構築しています。
